 The  Model 87 Target pistol is manufactured to tight tolerances, the counterweight should be tight and requires the use of a punch and hammer to remove. After removing the counterweight screws use a non-marring punch placed inside the countersunk screw holes and tap the weight forward until it comes free. Reassembly may require the use of a non marring hammer to tap the weight back into place.
