"A" stands for Anson (style of receiver), the "S" stands for sovrapposto (over and under / superpose), and "E" stands for Espulsiore (ejector). ASE = Anson Sovrapposto Espulsiore (Anson over-and-under ejector).  SO is for superpose in the Italian language
