What is the Sako Key Concept?

The Sako Key Concept is a device installed into the bolt shroud of model 75 rifles that allows the owner to lock the bolt closed using a key. Once the bolt is locked and the key is removed, this system helps prevent unauthorized use of the rifle. The Key Concept was a standard accessory on rifles built from 2000 to 2003. In 2004, the lock became optional. Current Sako rifle owners can have this device installed or removed for a nominal charge by returning the rifle to a Beretta-Authorized Service Center and requesting this change be performed. This locking device is not offered on the new model 85.
